Aunt Carrie’s Bakery was founded by me,
Carrie Barath, in 2001 as a small
cottage production out of my home in Mt.
Pleasant, Ohio. I had always enjoyed
baking as I was growing up. When I was
young my mother baked often and she also
decorated cakes for family. I’m sure I
got my passion from her. I attended
Hocking College
(near Athens, Ohio) and graduated as a
Certified Baker in 1999, and married my
high school sweet heart Dean in 2000. I
made our
wedding cake with 5 different
flavors of cake and a cheesecake. Soon I
was baking cakes and cookies for family
and friends. In 2001 I joined the Ohio
Valley Farmer’s Market and sold my
goodies there on Saturdays. |

I had my first child, Elijah in 2003,
and continued baking to 2005 after I
learned I was pregnant with the twins.
Until Aiden and Isaac were 2 years old,
I had no extra energy to put forth
toward anything else except babies! |
|
In 2007 I started back at the Farmer’s
Market, and have been slowly growing
since. |
|
Our family now resides in Bridgeport,
Ohio, where I bake out of my certified
home kitchen. I take special orders all
year round. I can be found regularly at
the Ohio Valley Farmer’s Market on
Saturdays in
Bellaire, Ohio (June – October)
and on Tuesdays in St. Clairsville, Ohio
(June – September). |
|
We have future plans to build a
storefront in the basement of our home
(hopefully by 2011, when all our
children will be in school full time!!).
Until then you can call us anytime to
place special orders. |

Aunt Carrie’s Bakery has a mission to
provide the customer with fresh baked
products, baked on site using quality
ingredients. I use only real butter in
my products, never margarine. This is
why you can’t get enough of my delicious
treats! I use no preservatives or
chemicals, and I use locally grown fruit
in my pies when available. |
|
Let Aunt Carrie’s Bakery be a part of
your family
traditions and celebrations to
make them even more memorable.
Thank you for your interest in my
bakery! |
